Hi folks,
I guess I'm confused.
As Emee pointed out " . . . GROUP FUNDS . . . are used for Al-Anon purposes
only."
OK.
But, group funds are being used for the International Convention. WSO is
spending a huge amount of money to put on this convention, and WSO is
financially responsible to the vendors.
If it's OK for WSO to spend money on the International Convention, then it
seems that the Convention must have "an Al-Anon purpose."
The reality is that things are not as black and white as many seem to
suggest. I have heard a couple of people suggesting a simple compromise,
but mostly I'm hearing black and white in response to what IMHO is a lot
more grey.
I've been hearing a lot about how know one knows any groups that are sending
anyone to the Convention. What I'd like to hear is what things do your
groups send people too? And what can ASP do that is most nearly the same?
I've also heard talk about how members of ASP should go to their f2f home
group and . . . You know, not everyone at ASP has a f2f home group. And
that is OK. Who am I to judge that someone needs to go to their f2f meeting
to do anything?
What I haven't heard is answers to the questions we asked last week. It
would be helpful if questions were answered.
Hugs,
Steve
