Hello Everyone,
This business meeting is for the members of ASP who are interested in helping ASP to grow and prosper and to be the kind of meeting that people want to be a part of. Those who stepped up to the plate to be of service to ASP, when leadership changed hands took their roles seriously. They gave a lot of thought to what they were willing to invest in ASP and how they could do that. We have an amazing Steering Committee that works together very well, with each member supporting and encouraging each other in their jobs as Trusted Servants. I am very grateful that we have such a dedicated and great team working behind the scenes to keep this meeting up and going for the 350 plus members that we now have on our membership list.
These Trusted Servants take their jobs to heart and dedicate hours to their position.all I might add in ways that are unseen by the majority of ASP, including most of our business meeting members. As a Steering Committee we opted for a shortened business meeting this month because we a lot going on in our face to face lives.
So in answer to the question "why was the length of time shortened" that is the reason. We are busy and cannot devote a full month to a business meeting.
In answer to "why are we again discussing the KBDM" we have new information on how that process works and it is important for all members of this meeting to understand that format. It is also important that all members who have information on how this is being used in their areas/districts, etc in the f2f world have an opportunity to share that with us and to help us grow in our understanding of a different process.
For those who simply do not want to understand the process, that is your prerogative. For those that wish to grow and learn and apply a new tool of the program, I thank you for investing your time and for speaking up and sharing your information with the rest of us.
Tradition one is part says, "Personal progress for the greatest number depends upon unity." This tells me that for those 350+ members in the recovery meeting (not just ourselves) there must be some unity of purpose. In order to gain unity in this Business Meeting we all need to understand the process to the best of our ability today, which includes using new information.
What is required to have unity is the desire to learn and understand new concepts, having an open mind, being willing and practicing patience and tolerance of one another, offering support and encouragement to each other, respect for another person's point of view and trusting the process.
Our Trusted Servants, contrary to popular belief of some in here are not dictators, nor are we doing this for the betterment of our health. We are doing this because we believe in ASP and its future. The title of Trusted Servant in no way implies that we are chained to our computers, that we do not have lives in the real world, or that we are perfect. We are human and do the best we can for this meeting each and every day. Anyone who refuses to see that may want to call their sponsor and look at themselves before pointing fingers at the trusted servants, calling names or snide comments.
Now, we are here to discuss the KBDM process. For those who wish to do so, I invite your participation. For those who want no part of it, I invite you to sit quietly on the sidelines without input or you can choose to unsubscribe from the business meeting and let those who wish to see ASP move forward get on with the business at hand.
Love and Serenity,
Dawn
