Why would you like to serve ASP in this position? To enhance my recovery
by
offering service to the group and to give back to this group
which has been
instrumental in my recovery process. Also to learn more about
working
behind the scenes in Al-Anon.
What changes would you like to see in ASP?
In general: I think ASP works pretty darn well but I would
love to see
more offered to our newcomers and more participation from group
members.
Specifically regarding this service position: I think Jerry does a great
job so I can't
think of any changes I'd like to see. Not having served in this position I
don't
have any experiences that would constitute a desire for change. I do
understand the concern Jerry mentioned regarding the Treasurer
having control of all the monies. I think shorter terms for the SC might
encourage more participation. Oh, and an easier resume form to complete
when applying for a position. :-)
What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP?
A break from Al-Anon traditions.
How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP?
[refer to http://www.asp-afg.org/ASP/A_Serenity_Place/ASP_INFO.HTM]
No issues from me regarding the ASP guidelines.
Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for
this position?
I am about as close to as accountant as one could get without a
degree. I am
the full-charge bookkeeper for a multi-million dollar company and have
owned and operated my own business, for a total of 20 years experience in
the bookkeeping field and dealing with others money. Oh, I'm also the
treasurer of the Booster Club at our local Middle School. :-)
Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and
how accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and
the general membership of ASP.
I have successfully been a Greeter and a Weekly Meeting Chair and have
read and re-read Jerry's Treasurer Job Description. I am currently in
regular contact with some members of the SC at this time and believe I am
easily accessible when needed.
Any thing else that you would like to say . . .
I think the current officers have done a great job and I hope I
can serve as
effectively.
