I think that ASP members who want to become officers should be a part of 
the group for at least one year.  It takes that long to become accustomed 
to how meetings are run and just comfortable with the whole online 
experience. 

Additionally, this would make one a long-term member and less likely to 
leave abruptly, and thus more committed.
