Thanks Steve, for the information on what positions are considered officer positions.

I agree 100% with another member of this business meeting, who said that it takes at least a year to get to know someone on-line and to be able to see how they are working the AL-ANON program in their lives. I would like to first see how a candidate for an officer position shares on the weekly Traditions and Concepts topics and how well they understand these principles. Little things that don't seem to be a big deal really are because they eventually dilute our program. It's a bit like becoming pregnant, no one notices at first but then after a while it cannot be missed. The "Promisses" "Co-depend" "My qualifier" Crosstalk" etc, etc are all things that came into our program as not a big deal...but now they are. I think an officer should know why these things ARE a big deal and be willing to speak up and help the reast of us understand the importance of following our Traditions and Concepts. Also, I do not think that officers should be dual members of other 12-Step programs, especially the AA program. When Al-Anon decisions on policy are made they ought to be made by Al-Anon members only..........f2f or on ASP.

Also, if it is not too much trouble, could we please have a list of business members in this meeting like we had last time? Thanks.

2 cents

Emee
