Hello again,

Simply stating that one must be a member of ASP for one year prior to becoming an officer is not helpful in itself as a determining factor of a member's qualifications. We really need to know what kind a program someone is working & what kind of service experience they have. Sometimes a policy decision will have to be made and I would like to know that an office has some background in our policy. As I mentioned, when I went off topic in my last share (sorry about that) I think it would be helpful to hear officer candidates share their ESH in our Wed Tradition/Concept meeting. How one shares this experience with us will shed light on how well they understand and live the Al-Anon program. Over a year of reading thses shares we would probably have a pretty fair idea of who we would like to see as an office on ASP. Also, I really like the idea that someone else had, to ask a candidate for the ASP officer position, on the resume, how they participate in ASP and in their F2F meetings (something like this?). I also hope that we will ask members applying for the officer positions, on the resume, whether they are a dual member of A.A. The topic of what we would like to be placed on the resume was brought up so I hope this is not considered off topic. If this topic is allowed to be brought up for discussion, I will give my reasons why I feel this is so important.

Emee
