OK, I just want to jump in here with my experience. In the past 6
months I opened a bank account for my F2F group. I did so under a
small business account, with an EIN from the IRS.

I got the EIN with the help of the WSO. There were parts of the form
that had to be filled out a certain way, which they helped me to do.
With the EIN and the minutes from the meeting where I had been elected
treasurer, there were no problems at the bank.

My husband has not had any problems likewise for three other banks
dealing with his 12 step groups. So I wonder if this is a Virginia
thing? I don't know.

I guess my point, beyond sharing my relevant experience, is to know if
anyone has talked to WSO about this? Surely they will be able to give
some help. It seems that incorporation, with the fees and then having
to pay taxes, is a bit much.
