[Businessmtg] Business meeting--Incorporation

Hi all Business Meeting Participants,

My two cents and without a whole lot of research but listening (reading) the
correspondence.

While there may be more expedient (not proven...or validated) ways to do this,
it seems that incorporating covers all basis--for now and whatever may be held
in the future.

To take, in MYHO, short stops to "get through" the immediate concern is
short-sighted. This is a long-term meeting and with long-term sights. Planting
the same discussion on the business committee a few days, weeks, or years down
the line only means we have to work through this again. I'd like the long-term
solution. It may take time and effort on us as the steering committee (and
probably, unfortunately, a lot of effort on Jerry who has already put in a LOT
of effort and time for ASP) to get this acccomplished. I am willing to do what
is needed from me as LA to get this going and certainly with a lot more time
open to me as LA than Jerry has as Treasurer.

I believe that our responsibility to our worldwide membership requires that we
make it an even playing field in terms of honoring our traditions.

It means allowing members outside the US to serve in any capacity and means that
we need to allow members to contribute in a way that is easy for them.

I believe that we adhere to an open financial policy and, yes, we could take
short-cuts for now. We all know that Jerry deserves a break and other's deserve
the opportunity to serve.

On a side note, I heard that Deleware is a good place to incorporate (which is
why a LOT of mutual funds do so). Just a thought and without a whole lot of
knowlege of incorporating Non-Proifts.

Hugs and apologies for being so quiet.
Denise
