[Businessmtg] OLA-IS Question

Biz-Pals,

Maybe someone can answer a nagging question for me...

OLA-IS was once an autonomous, non-Al-Anon structure for

on-line meetings (meaning not a part of the official Al-anon

service structure - an outside entity as described in our

service manual.) Then through some mechanism the WSO brought

them under the Al-Anon umbrella at WSO.

If this general description is accurate, then how can we

a) donate to OLA-IS since specifying a particular use for our

donations to the WSO is not, according to the Service Manual,

possible?, or

b) since OLA-IS was not an Al-Anon service arm before the

recent incorporation into the WSO, how could we ever have

considered sending Al-Anon funds to an outside organization?

Without an Area or District to call our own we are indeed

no different than the Lone Members whose interests are represented

solely by the WSO. It's not as if the WSO invented a special category

to minimize us; we fit into this unrepresented niche - by our choice

I might add.

If someone could figure out this puzzle for me it could see

my way to thinking more on our possibilities. Right now I

don't have the Al-anon tools to think beyond simple acceptance

that this is just the way it is.

Thanks,

Jerry
