[Businessmtg] Donations

Hi ASPers,

This brings up two basic thoughts for me . . .

1. Most groups I've known donate their excess funds to their District, Area
and WSO on a declining scale. The most common example seems to be 60% to
the District, 30% to the Area and 10% to WSO.

2. The groups do not attempt to determine the financial needs of the
District or Area in this process as there is no need for them to do so;
Districts donate to the Area and WSO and the Areas donate to WSO. In the
end, all excess funds trickle up (down) to the WSO.

My thinking is that OLA-IS has been our best contact with the outside world
and our ONLY contact with other online meetings - WSO does NOTHING to
facilitate communication between online meetings. Perhaps, they're afraid of
it?

Since OLA-IS serves these NEEDS better than any other Al-Anon entity then we
NEED to support OLA-IS.

FYI, support is not solely financial. Participation is at least as
important as money, probably more important. IMHO, we should once again
electing a representative to OLA-IS and do our part to reinvigorate OLA-IS.

Love and SERENITY,
Steve
