Hi everyone,I would like to apoligise and thank Steve for pointing out a couple of my faux pas.
I didn't realise we could crosstalk in the business meeting; I think maybe it can be very helpful.
#3. "On-line meetings are committed though to abide by the guidance of the
service manual, the same as a group would."
..... my comment#3. I wrote the words Service Manual when I actually meant TRADITIONS.
#4. "If we want to remain an on-line Al-Anon meeting, then we MUST follow
Traditions and guidelines."
.... my comment #4.OMGosh I used the word must! I am usually so careful never to use that word anymore, even whe speaking outside of Al-Anon. Sorry! Please replace the word must in my share with OUGHT as ought means a moral obligation, but not something we have to do. I too would like to hear more about OLA-IS and what they are actually doing for ASP and other on-line meetings TODAY. I am all for supporting them if we really still need their help. Happy to hear that they have shared their abundance with WSO. I think we need OLA-IS because there is really no place where any of us can discuss on-line meetings and calm the fears many members have about them. At Area Assemblies no one wants to discuss on-line meetings...it is really not our Area's businness. Yet when I stood up once and talked about on-line meetings being a great way for deaf members & home-bound members to attend regular meetings more easily there was a humm.... moment. There is definately a few closed minds and a sense of fear of the unknown when it comes to on-line meetings but if we could each show, a little at a time, the benefits of on-line meetings maybe that fear could deminish. It has to start with each of us, and maybe OLA-IS. Hugs,Emee
