Hi ASPers,

Don't you just love the way Al-Anons play by the rules?  They LOVE to write
rules, but following them is like herding cats. Ugh.

The Chair of this meeting has the responsibility for the agenda.  Along with
that responsibility comes the authority.  No one else has responsibility for
the agenda and therefore, no one else has the authority to change it or to
ignore it and carry on with their own agendas, regardless of their intention
or the value of their agenda.

IMHO, ALL of the posts since Denise's note tabling the topic and opening the
Secretary topic are out of order.  

That said, the Chair (our List Administrator in this case) has stated that
we do NOT have a consensus and that the meeting appeared to be stalled.
Frankly, I agree with her on both points.  The meeting was stalled when she
made that post and we did not have a consensus - potentially a partial
consensus, but that is NOT a consensus.  

It's worth noting that the current topic - the Secretary - is a more
pressing problem for ASP that needs to be addressed.  So, let's get on with
it OK.
