Hi Business Meeting Friends,

I have been a member of Al-Anon for 20 yrs.  I stick my big toe in, I step
back.... early on (3 months in) I was approached by an old timer looking for
an alternate GR for the small meeting I had joined, she had been the GR for
far longer than the recommended time but no one would step up to the
rotation.  Being the oh so responsible one, I reluctantly volunteered.  It
was one of the best steps I have taken.  Service keeps me coming back even
when I don't want to.  I have learned so much but have much more to learn.

For anyone who qualifies for the Secretary's position , I encourage you to
step forward, you won't regret it.  The secretary runs and schedules our
business meeting's bi-monthly, keeps the meeting chair positions filled and
participates in Steering Committee discussions.  The spot has been vacant
for some time now and the role is being absorbed by others (thanks Denise!)
