Service Position in ASP you are available for: _Greeter Chair

ASP Birthday: __________October 2010__________ Years: __2__
One year's participation in ASP is a prerequisite to serving as an officer of
ASP. Participation may take many forms, but merely having one's email address
on the ASP server is not participation.
Service Positions held in Al-Anon:
A member of ASP must have served ASP in some other service capacity for 1 year
in addition to any other minimum qualifications for ASP Officers.
Face-to-Face Al-Anon: _______None___________________________________

ASP: ____Greeter Committee, current_____________________________________
Online Al-Anon other than ASP: __None_________________________________

Members of Al-Anon who are also members of AA are not eligible to serve as
officers of ASP or on the Steering Committee
Are you a member of AA? _____No________
Why would you like to serve ASP in this position? I believe service helps keep
me sane as well as participating in ASP as part of my program. I am great at
organization and enjoy supervision. I tend to be good in crisis situations and
think on my feet quite well. Most importantly, I learn from my mistakes and
always look for a better way to function when something doesn’t work.
What changes would you like to see in ASP?
In general: I can’t think of any changes that I would want to see
in ASP. After 2 years I feel it runs incredibly smoothly.
Specifically regarding this service position: Again, no changes that I can
think of. Caveat would be that once I’m in this position (assuming I’m
selected) that I would be able to streamline any processes that feel redundant
or clumsy.
What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP? I love that this is an email
based meeting so I wouldn’t want to see it go to a chat room type of
atmosphere. Too limiting.
In what way do you feel you participate or contribute to the group? I don’t
participate nearly enough. My contribution to the group is my service position
on the greeter committee.
How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP? Our guidelines were set
up by those who came before me. I can’t imagine how I could possibly improve
them.

Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for this
position? Several years of managerial experience as well as being executive
assistant to the Director at my employer has given me valuable experience in
supervising, if not people per se, then the process in general.
Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and how
accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and the
general membership of ASP. I adjust my availability as needed. I have the
ability to be on the ASP email website during my workday so am very available to
the Steering Committee most of the day. On the weekends and evenings I check my
ASP email as well.
Any thing else that you would like to say . . .
Thank you for considering my request!
