Hi there Business Meeting friends...

I have been a member of Al-Anon for many, many 24 hours. I stick my big toe
in, I step back.... early on (3 months in) I was approached by an old timer
looking for an alternate GR for the small meeting I had joined, she had been
the GR for far longer than the recommended time but no one would step up to
the rotation. Being the oh so responsible one, I reluctantly volunteered.
Service has been a great tool and a great part of my recovery. I have been
involved in Al-Anon service ever since. Service keeps me coming back even
when I don't want to. I have learned so much but have much more to learn.

For anyone who qualifies for the Webmaster position , I encourage you to
step forward, you won't regret it. The Webmaster is responsible for keeping
all of the information on our web pages up to date and is a member of the
ASP Steering Committee. You don't need to be experienced in HTML or coding,
we have software that simplifies the work, a technical aptitude and a
willingness to learn is all that is required. There are several members of
the Steering Committee that have done the ASP Web work, and our service
provider has provided timely, responsive and helpful technical support.
The role can be as large or as small as the person would like it to be.
There is room for growth on our pages but it is not "required", all that is
asked is that the webmaster keep the information posted up to date and
accessible. There is a structure and purpose to all of our pages. Our
public pages are a resource to folks looking for relief from the effects of
alcohol and there are our members pages and business meeting pages that are
all about the business of ASP, plus they offer Al-Anon resource links.

Roles and responsibilities of the Webmaster and the Steering Committee can
be found by following this link.

I encourage all of you to consider the position, I learned so much when I
volunteered to be the ASP webmaster and had very little past experience.
Being a member of the Steering Committee has also enriched my program. I am
happy to answer any questions you might have. Looking forward to hearing
from folks...

Hugs,

Anne O
ASP Treasurer
