Hi JT,

While f2f members of Al-Anon know about WSO and may start at the WSO web
site, the average newcomer doesn't know where to start, except perhaps to do
a Google search for an Al-Anon meeting.  

If they do that, then they will get several links to OLA-IS before they get
anything to WSO.  In fact, the last time I checked, you'd often get links to
my original (and still active) ASP web site before WSO.  IMHO, that says
something about the greater level of service both OLA-IS and ASP have
provided to the new member to Al-Anon compared with the service provided by
WSO.  I haven't done an analysis lately, but the last time I did we
discovered that over 75% of the members reaching ASP came from either the
OLA-IS site or my web site.  

As for the comments regarding it looking like there are control issues going
on in the business meeting . . . it is OK for members of the business
meeting to post their take on principles and their opinions on issues.  And
it is OK for cross talk - members of the BC may respond directly to other
member's posts.  However, it is not OK to make any kind of derogatory
comment regarding another member of ASP.  If you feel that someone is
"controlling" then I'd suggest that you describe the actions that you feel
are inappropriate in the meeting and why.  Otherwise, posting comments that
appear to be labeling an individual without substantiation is considered a
personal attack on the individual.  And that is unacceptable in ASP.

Hi members, I would just like to state that when I found ASP it was on the
WSO website.  I knew nothing about any other places to find information on
Al-Anon.  There is a lot of information on WSO website.  To my understanding
that is the clearing house that was set up to take care of Al-Anon business
set up by Lois before the age of online meetings.  It is beginning to look
like some control issues are going on here in the business meeting.  We need
discussion but not individual controlling. Thank you for letting me voice my
opinion even though I may be a minority. JT
