[Businessmtg] Why do we give to Al-Anon and the World Service Office?

*We give to express our gratitude for this program which has given us a new
way of life. *

We give so that the message of hope that we find in Al-Anon is carried to
everyone everywhere.

*How is the message of hope carried out throughout the world? *

Public Service Announcements - created by the World Service Office with the
money that is donated to the World Service Office.

Conference Approved Literature - created  and published from the sharing of
Al-Anon members around the world  by the World Service Office. the use of
Conference Approved Literature (CAL) ensures that the Al-Anon message of
hope is consistent throughout the world.  CAL is reviewed first by the
Literature Committee which is a  Committee of Delegates from the World
Service Conference Structure and then is reviewed by the Policy Committee.

*Money is our messenger in places we cannot be.  *

There are people all over the world suffering from the affects of someone's
alcoholism - not just in our groups, districts, areas.

Step Twelve - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these
steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practise these
principles in all of our affairs.

Carrying the message to others has spread Al-Anon's help to troubled people
all over the world. When we fulfill that responsibility our reward is a
ever richer gift."*

Al-Anon is in 133 countries - 42 languages and 36 General Service Office
Structures.

As of December 31, 2012 there were 25,418 Al-Anon groups registered around
the world.
Of those U.S. 13,245 Al-Anon groups  U.S, 1,002 Alateen Groups
Canada 1,329 Al-Anon and 88 Alateen
International Al-Anon 9,046 and 708 Alateen

There were 107 registered electronic meetings of which 46 were Internet and
61 telephone -

Al-Anon World Service Office is supported by
Literature Sales, Members donations, Group donations, other.  Al-Anon is
self-supporting declining outside contributions.

Donations to the World Service Office go to support;

The Forum - every registered group in the World Service conference
Structure receives a free copy of the Forum including registered electronic
meetings.
