Hi again Raine & Everyone,
Raine, I believe you have misunderstood what I have said about us registering ASP as a GROUP. I never said it was our CHOICE to become a registered Group (this is NOT possible right now because we have no links of service) ... this is what we need to realize. It is NOT WSO keeping us from doing this. If it is anyone, it would be the group conscious of Al-Anon as a whole. We have to let it began with each one of us and that is something that could take a long time to figure out, if ever. Unless we can have the same links of service as a registered group we can not become a GROUP. Right now we have no means of following the links of service so please tell me how that is WSO controlling us?
Also, I think it is harsh to say that WSO DEMANDS funds from us. Our program is based on moral suggestions not demands from any level.
As far as ASP being a supplement to F2F meetings this is true but it does not imply that the recovery here is any less effective. I agree with you Raine, that I get a lot more from this on-line group than I do at some of my F2F meetings even if it is not considered a registered group. It IS our choice to attend this on-line meeting and forfiet our ability to vote on outside matters at this time. If we want that voice & vote then we will just have to go to a F2F meeting to do that at this time.

I do not believe that the WSO allows online groups to register as and receive the same privileges as F2F groups. The WSO also makes it very clear that they view online Meetings as inferior to F2F groups.
>
> Al-Anon's Electronic Meeting Guidelines http://www.al-anon.org/members/pdf/guidelines/G39.pdf do not give us the option to become a group. We are a meeting and we have a meeting contact, but the guidelines do not give us a voice in what happens at the WSO.
>
> Bulletin S-60 (Fact Sheet for Online Meetings) http://www.al-anon.org/pdf/S60.pdf states that "Electronic Al‑Anon meetings are a supplement to regular attendance at “face-to-face” Al‑Anon groups." --I do not believe this is true and my home meeting is ASP even though I have access to F2F meetings, I get so much more out of ASP than I ever got out of F2F meetings.

> Interestingly, the WSO also DEMANDS that we submit our excess funds to the WSO despite us not having a voice which is contrary to all of our Traditions as it sounds like a top down mandate.
