[Businessmtg] Why do we give to Al-Anon and the World Service Office?

Hi Raine and Group,
Thank you Raine! No problem, I will try to write more clearly. In answer to: Has the issue of online meetings ever come up at a convention? I dont know. Conventions are usually fun & fellowship focused. I personally have brought the topic up at two Area Assemblies and many times privately to may different GRs. I talked about what a life line it is for some members, like the deaf, members in assisted living facilities, and invalids who's only means to get to a meeting is online. The Assembly heard me and agreed but I don't think they knew what to do with the information. This was a time when online meetings was being down-played and discourage at our F2F meetings (at least in my Area) so it was not easy to stand up for online meetings at that time. I did say that it would be good if we could have a voice but I was realistic about how that could acutually come about. Maybe it will one day and maybe it won't but it has nothing to do with WSO. "Let it began with me!" I believe each of us needs to go where we do have a voice and express our ideas to other GRs and DR's and our Delegates. Assemblies have a thing called Table Topics and they are voted on at Assemblies, and the top 3 are taken by our Delegate, to the World Service Conference for discussion. We need more awareness and help in finding solutions at this level of service if there is to be a change.
