Hello Business Meeting Participants,

Thank you for being here!  The address for this meeting is

This is not a specific time meeting, but occurs as we log in and comment
throughout the month.

There have been some helpful suggestions from new members regarding
communicating better, and I am grateful for your input.

1.    The positions of List Administrator, Secretary, and Greeter Chair are
open.  We are trying to streamline the process of electing 3 officers.  ASP
members may apply for all three positions, or just one.   We will elect a
List Administrator first, and then continue with the Secretary and then
Greeter Chair positions.  If only one person is applying for each position,
we may elect all positions at one time.



These are the positions:

   - *List Administrator  *
      - The primary leadership position of ASP
      - Chairs the Steering Committee
         - Primary spokesperson for the Steering Committee
         - Deals directly with members of ASP regarding ASP policy &
         practices
         - Makes autonomous decisions regarding ASP affairs, when needed
         - Keep others on Steering Committee thoroughly informed of all
         communication involving or representing the Steering Committee
      - Responsible for technical administration of the ASP mailing list
      - Meeting Contact
         - Primary contact person with WSO
         - Online meetings are not "Groups" and therefore do not have GRs
      - Serves for three years
   - *Secretary  *
      - Chairs the Business Meeting
      - Responsible for the Daily Chairpersons in the ASP meeting
         - Appoints Daily Chairpersons to 6 month position
         - Instructs/trains Daily Chairpersons
      - Alternate List Administrator #1



   - *Greeter Chairperson  *
      - Chairs the Greeter Committee
         - Appoints Greeters
         - Instructs/trains Greeters
         - Oversees greeting process
      - Alternate List Administrator #2



 2.    Any member of ASP meeting the qualifications for the
 Officers of ASP may make themselves available.  The qualifications  are:



*The prerequisite to serving as an ASP officer: "One year's participation
 in ASP is a prerequisite to serving as an officer of ASP.
 Participation may take many forms, but merely having one's email
 address on the ASP server is not participation."





* "Members of AA who are also members of ASP are not eligible to
 serve as Officers of ASP or on the ASP Steering Committee."





3.  Members make themselves available by providing their Al-Anon resume
 to the Chair of this meeting.  If you are interested in making
 yourself available for one of the ASP Officer positions, please
 complete the resume form and submit it to me by June 15th.

 The deadline for submitting a resume is June 15th.


 4.    Once we have shared resumes, members may ask the  candidate(s)
questions.  Please keep your questions appropriate to  Al-Anon.  Do NOT
post messages unrelated to the election of the positions.

5.    The Q&A period for the election of the List Administrator will close
at
 Midnight, Monday, June 22nd CST, unless there is some unforeseen issue
that suggests that we need to continue  the Q&A session.

 6.    If we do not have more than one member available for the
 position, the Chair will entertain a motion to elect the new Officer
 by acclamation - it will require a vote, however, to affirm such a
motion.

 7.    The Web Master will create a polling page on the ASP web site,
 which is how we will actually vote.

 8.    We will announce the location of the polling page - this sometimes
 takes a day or so.

 9.    There will be no discussion while the polls are open - the Business
 Meeting server will be on moderated status while the polls to ensure
 that this protocol is not violated.

 10.  The poll will close at Midnight of the third full day after the
 polling page has been announced.

 11.  A simple majority is required to elect a Trusted Servant at ASP.

 12.  The Chair will announce the outcome of the vote/poll to the Business
 Meeting, and make a similar announcement to the ASP recovery meeting.
