[Businessmtg] Explanation of election process

Hi folks,
It seems like an explanation is in order . . .
One of the goals of ASP has been to be as much like face-to-face as possible. So, just like in face-to-face Al-Anon, we have a priority order of our elections. Where the f2f Assembly elects the Delegate first, and then after the Delegate has been elected, the Assembly moves on to electing the Alternate Delegate, and then the Area Chair, we elect the List Administrator first, then once that is done, we elect the Secretary (Alternate List Administrator), and once that is done we elect the Greeter Chair.
Since we elected the new List Administrator a few months ago, the next position is the Secretary. We will complete the election of the Secretary first, then once we have elected the next Secretary we will move on to elect the next Greeter Chair.
OK?
So what happened is that Laura made herself available for Greeter Chair, then made herself available to serve as Secretary. OTOH, Cathy has made herself available for Greeter Chair only. Since we will be electing the Secretary first, we will be holding the election for Secretary starting on Tuesday evening. Only Laura will be on that ballot because she is the only person to make themselves available for Secretary.
Then, after the election for Secretary Cyndi will open the election for Greeter Chair. Assuming that Laura is elected Secretary, her name will be automatically removed from the Greeter Chair ballot and only Cathy's name will be on the ballot.
Now, perhaps you can see how this would work if we had multiple people willing to serve for each position . . . we'd elect the first priority position and then whoever was elected would no longer be available for the following positions.
Hopefully, I've cleared the waters on this. If not, HOLLER at me and I'll try to explain.
Hugs,
Steve

Thank you, Laura.
Am I understanding correctly that you are willing to take either the Secretary or the Greeter Chair position?
Hugs, Linda
