I believe the OT emails serve a huge purpose. Like many of you, I couldn't think straight when I first came here. I was lost and confused. I sent my share of OT emails, but because people responded to me personally, I felt connected and loved. I needed all of you. Soon, I found my first sponsor here at ASP until I could find my f2f sponsor.  With her guidance and example, I learned to share properly, quit leaning on OT emails, and began to recover. 

Today, I enjoy reading newcomers emails-on and off topic. I can choose to read the OT emails or delete them.  I can choose to respond or not.  Our newcomers need to feel free to share openly and honestly. 

I don't think having a separate forum or board for OT emails is a good idea.  I would have felt hurt and pushed aside.  If someone begins abusing the privilege, someone can gently talk to them privately. 

I do like the idea of a beginners meeting-but that may be a topic to discuss later.  Perhaps a Q and A format with a panel of longtimers.

 I love the idea of a SHORT email reminding us how to share and how to use OT emails. 


I also really love the idea of compiling a list of members who are willing to sponsor someone temporarily until a f2f sponsor can be found.
