[Businessmtg] Any questions about the process/idea of a show of hands?

Thanks Laura.

Ok. If I understand this correctly, if ASP was deciding whether or not to
have balloons (silly example), it would look like this:

Laura (ASP Secretary) says to the meeting, in effect, "We will now have a
show of hands to see if a consensus has been reached on this issue. Please
go to asp-afg.org/members-show-of-hands-poll and indicate where you are on
this topic."

ASP Webmaster will have set up the poll and it would have 3 options: 1-I
agree with the idea that ASP should have balloons. 2-I don't agree that ASP
should have balloons. 3-I haven't decided about balloons and need more time
to think about the issue. 4-I still have questions and require more
discussion.

The results would be communicated from the Webmaster to the Secretary. If
most people chose option 1 and agreed ASP should have balloons, then the
Secretary would say to the meeting: "A consensus has been reached and the
Chair will entertain a motion."

Then the motion would be made and seconded... and then we would have an
official vote. The results would be published. If options 2, 3 or 4
dominated, then we would act accordingly.

Do I have this right?
