[Businessmtg] I make a motion, but I have some questions

I make a motion, partially at least. There is so much to digest, and I
sit, waiting, trying to get over my fear of looking stupid if I speak out
and don't understand or missed a critical piece of information. :)

I vote for online polling. From what Jane has told us, it is possible for
us to see the outcomes of the votes (% of people who voted yay or nay on
issues), and we can write in additional commentary on topics. I love the
simplicity of it, and while the business meeting is for hashing things out
to make our choices, it's my opinion that members would be influenced by
personalities instead of principles if they know a certain member with whom
they really do or do identify, casts a certain vote.

HOWEVER, I'm wondering if SOME issues need to be done via email. Are there
any situations that need extra documentation, extra information to changing
opinion? This very topic might be the epitome of this need, haha. And I
understand the need for transparency, but is it truly necessary for
everyone to see exactly what Al-Anon John (forgive the example name..just
what I came up with) voted? Perhaps some issues just need double
documentation, in email as well as polls.

These are just my takes..
Melanie
