Listening to the shares I see that newcomers differ in their responses to volume. How about this?: 
  
Give newcomers a choice. When a prospective member gets a response to their first query (the greeter letter that the Steering Committee is currently working on) we ask them whether they are new to Al-Anon or just new to ASP (assuming they have some Al-Anon experience). 
  
Could we not ask them if they would prefer to join a Beginners' Meeting (by whatever name we would label it) which would have fewer emails to begin with, or do they want to jump in with both feet knowing they'll receive 40 emails a day with a bit of overlap in topics? Choice from the very first day; imagine that.
