[Businessmtg] Reflections on Secretary

I would estimate that my general work as the secretary was about 15
minutes a day, unless I was covering the list administrator's job
while she was unavailable. Then it went up to about an hour a day. My
typical secretary daily tasks were to make sure that the daily meeting
went out, and that the chairperson followed the format. I also
responded to complaints from various members about other members'
shares (probably about 1-2 a week).
When I was covering the list admin duties, that also included
monitoring the list shares, adding people to the list, and responding
to questions from the list (like how to change email addresses,
unsubscribe and go on vacation)
During the time that we were having business meetings (which under me
happened every other month) the time went up to about 2 hours a day.
During that time I was often trying to scour the archives to research
the "rules" and responding to various things about the meeting.
I will be honest. To be the secretary of this particular meeting, one
needs are really thick skin and the ability to pursue what one
believes is right in spite of personal attacks, bullying, and constant
questioning of motives. Sadly, I did not have these qualities.
As a side note, I do not believe the issue was with me in particular.
The problem appears to be transferring to Sandie as she tries to steer
this meeting right now.
