One year's participation in ASP is a prerequisite to serving as an officer
of ASP.  Participation may take many forms, but merely having one's email
address on the ASP server is not participation.

Service Positions held in Al-Anon:  A member of ASP must have served ASP in
some other service capacity for 1 year in addition to any other minimum
qualifications for ASP Officers.

Face-to-Face Al-Anon:  All jobs at group and District levels.  GR, DR, Area
Secretary, Alt Delegate/Chair, Area Forum Coordinator, Area 02 Convention
Committee (all 5 positions required including Chair), Area Public
Information Coordinator - there may be more that I don't remember.

ASP:  none

Online Al-Anon other than ASP:  Key to Harmony since 1994 - Secretary,
Archivist, Chairman

Members of Al-Anon who are also members of AA are not eligible to serve as
officers of ASP or on the Steering Committee.
Are you a member of AA?
BJ:  No.

Why would you like to serve ASP in this position?
BJ:  I would like to learn more about how this OL group conducts business
and encourages members to share.


What changes would you like to see in ASP?
BJ:  Would like to see all  who quote CAL to give correct legal credit to
those quotes (chairs and members both) and, possibly, for them to
understand why this is necessary.

In general:  Nothing that hasn't been talked about in Business Meetings in
the last year.

Specifically regarding this service position:
BJ:  To learn about this position and how ASP works.


What changes do you NOT want to see occur at ASP?
BJ:  NA at this time.  I'm not well enough acquainted with ASP inner
workings to know if anything needs to be changed.


In what way do you feel you participate or contribute to the group?
BJ:  Sharing when I can, learning th ASP structure and participating in
Business Meetings.

How do you feel about the current guidelines at ASP?  [refer to

BJ:  I agree in general but do not expect newcomers to OL or Al-Anon to
grasp the importance or need for such. It is a bit wordy and long.  I would
prefer to read the Service Manual for information.

Do you have technical or other experience that you feel is significant for
this position?
BJ:  I use a computer only.  I am not sure what this Member at Large job
requires.

Describe your concept of how much time you have available to serve ASP and
how accessible you are to the other members of the Steering Committee and
the general membership of ASP.
BJ:  I read shares daily and share when I want to.  I am not on the
computer 24/7 but do check in as much as  possible.  And I do enjoy the
Business Meetings I have been a part of and "meeting" more members and when
I have a job to do, I try very hard to be available. You may also have my

Anything else that you would like to say  . . .  2 out of 3 of these
