Since I am learning how to participate in an ASP business meeting and KBDM
rules, I would like to add my thoughts on the physical beginner packet
distribution system and how I came to the decisions I came to below.

A) Being that this is an* online program, keeping online with online, *my
opinion is that sending out physical Beginners Packets is not a good use of
ASP funds.

Sidebar:  For me, when I was a beginner, my head was so wahooed, I was not
able to understand the things the Beginners Packet had to offer.  So, that
being said, the beginner packet did not help me in the crisis situation
that brought me to the program to begin with, 40 years ago.  But that did
not prevent me from attending meetings.  So I think physical or not
physical, it depends where/who you are emotionally for a new comer packet
to be effective/useful.

The online newcomer site here, thoughtfully put together, was helpful in
terms of some acronyms for me, when I first joined.

B) That a new comer packet and system was developed previously and it
failed.

On cancelling the motion which created it:

I believe the new comer site on ASP is adequate, but maybe there needs to
be some improvement in the syntax or in some other area to be determined by
this temporary committee, keeping in mind copyright and plagiarism
facts/laws, unless these can be changed or updated.

So in terms of sending out a physical newcomer packet, the creation of
*this* *motion, *needs to be cancelled.  If there is no motion, there is no
packet issue to be discussed.....if there is no consensus for a physical
packet, there is no need for a motion.

Does ASP want to fund and restart the Beginners Packet program?

My response is no I do not wish to see the Beginners Packet program
restarted and funded.

Should we move to cancel the motion which created it?
