I was asked by Sandie to address this question.
Kristen Z: "Can you direct me to where it was approved/voted on that Jane
was
authorized to create a new Members site that would be used and accepted
without needing a vote/poll?"
Kristen, I appreciate your thanking me for my efforts at the bottom of that
email. It was a lot of work.
A lot of what the SC does is informal. Please remember that I created the
public site prior to the member site using Wordpress and refer to my
introduction as to the reason for this.
If you scroll down on the document entitled Website Decision
2014--Switching to Wordpress, you will see that I received positive
responses from all but one member of the Steering Committee (Melanie H),
who did not contribute to the discussion. I therefore felt that I had
authorization to post the current content at asp-afg.org
The public page really doesn't need updating as a general rule, but the
member site does. The Webmaster has to post updated financial reports and
service rotations. This requires at least monthly updating. As I was unable
to download the software used to create the old member site, the only way I
could update the member site was to create one using Wordpress.
On that same document (Website Decision 2014--Switching to Wordpress),
Steve said in a private email to me, "I’m tentatively OK with using
WordPress given the changes that you’ve made. I guess I’d like to see some
of the other pages in WordPress before I’d sign off on it completely. For
example, the primary Business Page, sample polling pages, and the
Treasurer’s Reports." I notified the Steering Committee on 12/7/14 that I
would be creating a "business page" (member site) when I stated, "Steve
said that he would like to see a main business page and a treasurer's
report. I am working on those, but you can preview the main site in the
meantime."
I then direct your attention to the document Members Only Website Decision
2015. If you scroll down on this document, you should see my statement, "Here
is the new site for your perusal: http://asp-afg.org/members/ Steve
requested a sample voting page, so I created a poll for the SC to vote on
the new site." Later, on 12/10/15, after everyone had voted, I wrote to the
SC and said, "
*I should add that the decision regarding the website--with all members of
the SC voting--was unanimously Yes :-) Thanks again!"*
I hope that answers your question.
