[Businessmtg] Service to ASP

Hello everyone -

This is the first time I've typed something while I've been a member of ASP, but I've been kinda bothered by it.

I signed up to be on the business meeting list as soon as I saw it.

I saw there were a number of service positions open or ready to be cycled out as soon as someone else stepped up (and had their resume approved) for the position.  With one caveat - in or to serve ASP I need to be a member of this Group for at least a year.

So, while I am interested in serving and probably qualified (I haven't looked at the resume page since I can't serve due to length of ASP membership), I can't serve.

I'm sure I'm not the only person to be restricted from ASP service even though I have 6 or 7 years in Al-Anon, started a Step Meeting, served as GR for another meeting and regularly do simple things like getting the room ready for the meeting, offering rides to Al-Anon members who have trouble getting to meetings and always listening to the newcomer.

When was the last time the Group considered adjusting requirements for service, if the Group is having trouble filling the positions?

I also understand this topic is not something we are going to discuss in this meeting because it was not already on the agenda, but how would we go about getting it on the agenda for the next meeting?
