While I was one of the steering committee members who originally voted on the approval of the new website, it seems to me from previous business meeting discussions that we may have approved it erroneously and should have brought the proposed changes before the BM. That said, I would vote the same today that I did 2 years ago and vote to approve the changes. However, since our own rules dictate that we only discuss one item at a time, the first subject brought to the floor was filling the empty SC positions. It is not for us to circumvent our own policies and frankly, by jumping to a new topic without resolution we are doing just that.

I’m also curious as to why a deadline was imposed on the receipt of resumes. I don’t recall our having done that in past meetings. Could the list admin please clarify?

Also, assuming I’m not the only attendee to have served in times past on the SC, wouldn’t it be helpful to hear from some other folks their ESH related to service and the SC ?
