However, the Secretary convened the Newcomer Committee prior to that and had
already begun its work over a month before, and Kristen served on that
initial Newcomer Committee and continues to serve on the Newcomer Committee
which is essentially the same committee with a few additional members.
I'd suggest that we let the members decide with their vote. Those that
believe that Kristen sufficiently satisfies the 1 year service requirement
can vote to elect her. Those that don't believe the Kristen has sufficiently
satisfied the 1 year service requirement can vote No.
This would allow us to continue with our election. If we need to discuss the
prior service criteria further, we can do so in another Business Meeting at
a later date.
May I point out that we elected another officer whose resume stated "None as
of yet" during your term as List Administrator. A year later, Adele's resume
stated: "ASP: no service yet".
I'm struggling to understand why it was OK to elect someone TWICE with zero
service in the last two years, yet we're quibbling about the small details
of service of another member now.
Am I suggesting that we scrap the prior service requirement? Not at all.
But, I'm definitely suggesting that we be reasonably flexible and at all
times consider what is best for ASP.
Hugs,
Steve

The Newcomer Committee was not even voted on until the May Business Meeting
and the earliest date started was May 23..
