Hi Barbara,

I'm really confused by what you're saying I said. Let me clarify:

I pointed out that attending the Business Meetings is NOT qualifying service for serving as an officer of ASP. I could list a slew of reasons why this wouldn't make any sense at all.

I'm even more confused when you said "And my service in f2f apparently has merit according to Steve's recent emails."

Your service in f2f apparently has no bearing on serving in ASP. We provide room for members to provide their Al-Anon service resume because we know some members want to see that. However, as a group, how, where or when someone has served in other entities is an outside issue as far as ASP is concerned. As my sponsor likes to put it "We don't get to transfer credits from one group to another in this program".

What ASP is concerned about is that our officers have served ASP in a service position.  After years of experience with members that had little if any prior service at ASP - regardless of their f2f service - ASP decided to require members actually serve ASP before being elected to an elected position. Members of ASP, including members of AA, are welcome to serve ASP in other positions with only 6 months of membership in ASP. 

Earlier today, you said "I met the requirements last year, by a few days, yet was deleted from running for a service position."  

Actually, you did not meet the service requirements. Your resume stated: 
  "ASP:  none"
This was noticed by an another member, which brought it to everyone's attention. Clearly, "none" doesn't satisfy the requirement for having served ASP for a year.

I had served on every Business Meeting since I joined ASP, Kristen.  My time limit for being a member hit the one year mark  just days after I filled out a resume and before a vote could be taken ... just like you
meeting requirements.   If being a member of the Business Meetings and
other such committee meetings fills the one year requirement, I did that in August of last year.  And my service in f2f apparently has merit according to Steve's recent emails.

That is all I can tell you.  I quit mind reading yonks ago so cannot tell you much more than that.
