[Businessmtg] Qualifications to serve

All,
Here is a clear example of confusion caused by changes made too quickly to
our documentation. The resume was updates at some point by someone and
unfortunately didn't include the information in the motion made. Not only
has Steve shared a link to the correct resume. I still have the original
resume in archives with this line of text. With that said, I believe we
have worked through the language of the qualifications to serve. Meeting
attendance - business and recovery do not count towards service. How could
we ever quantify the level of participation in the bus meetings, just like
quantifying the recovery meeting it is too subjective.
Stepping forward to chair, be a greeter or to be a part of the newcomers
committee do count towards service. The newcomers committee started meeting
on or around 5/18 of this year.
With that said, Kristen is just a month short of qualifying. In the
interest of keeping the peace. I'd like to suggest we vote on her resume
now, after the LA. I think we could include a line in that poll, that
states, her position would start November 18. Given the fact that bus
meetings are held bi-monthly, the next bus meeting isn't expected to be held
until December. That would give her enough time to prepare with the
support of the steering committee. And we would be meeting the requirements
set forth in the motion.
Hugs,
Anne
One year's participation in ASP is a prerequisite to serving as an officer
of ASP. Participation may take many forms, but merely having one's email
address on the ASP server is not participation.
Service Positions held in Al-Anon:
A member of ASP must have served ASP in some other service capacity for 1
year in addition to any other minimum qualifications for ASP Officers.
