Jane,
Please send "And yes, I did make the motion and asked that Sandie post
it."
Can you send what you sent to Sandie to us?
I never saw it. I have continued to look and look for this.
Thank you.
Take Care of Yourself!

Hi all,
For reference, this was the old member site
http://www.asp-afg.org/ASP/MembersOnly/index.htm and the one we have used
since early 2015 is
http://asp-afg.org/members/
The reason I asked for this to be put on the agenda is because changing or
approving the ASP websites has always stopped at the level of the Steering
Committee, but 6 months ago or so, Steve said in the SC that the Business
Meeting should approve the websites because they belong to ASP as a whole.
The topic was then brought to the May meeting, and the consensus seemed to
be let's just vote on it already... But the meeting ended abruptly and
there was no vote.
Since then, we have had officers to elect so the issue was forgotten. My
term ends next month. I wanted you all to let your voices be heard
regarding the websites, and I am concerned that the new SC will change
things without your consent once I'm gone.
I understood the resistance to voting on the websites when we were still on
the election process, but I don't understand it now. The voting is
happening for those who volunteered. The websites really seem like a yes or
no issue--either you approve of them or you don't.... And any one member
can ask that something be added to the agenda before or after the BM
starts. Adding it is at the sole discretion of the chair.
The Steering Committee has voted to approve the websites twice, once in
2015 and recently... But you should have the chance to approve them as
well. Or not. My hope is that from here on out, changes will be made via
participation of not only the Steering Committee, but other interested
members as well.
Yes I worked hard on transferring the old sites to the new. Yes I have
fought to keep them because I feel that they are more helpful to members
and especially newcomers than the older sites, but I have ALWAYS welcomed
collaboration, despite implications to the contrary. I leave it in your
hands to decide what to do with them going forward.
And yes, I did make the motion and asked that Sandie post it.
