Sorry for throwing a wrench in the meeting. The following is the email I responded to, and I was and still am happy to be part of anything that could help ASP continue to be successful and continue to share and live out the values and love of al-Anon.

I responded and did receive the email with all the ins and outs of meeting etiquette and procedures.  

That being said I want to say thank you to those who have welcomed me, I would like to continue to be part of the BM, if only as an observer to learn more about how the business side works.  I’m not looking to vote or change anything, that would seem silly with my being part of the group for only a couple weeks. 

I’m humbled and grateful to be part of the meeting. I appreciate your willingness to allow me to see even some of the not so pretty parts of the functioning of ASP.  Even in the midst of my confusion and head scratching, I see a group of passionate people wanting only the best and working EXTREMELY hard towards a solution. 

I have a brand new appreciation for your service, because it doesn’t appear to be easy.  As I mentally switch back and forth between the daily discussion and the meeting, it is clear that your dedication and service to the group is not only successful, but nothing short of miraculous. Lives are being changed for the better, and your sacrifice is making a difference.  

Thanks again for welcoming me and I look forward to helping any way that is best for the group.
