[Businessmtg] Fwd: RE: Unveiling the ASP Members Only site

​​I created 3 documents for the May Business Meeting. The first contains
the text of all the emails exchanged when it was decided to switch to using
WordPress, the second contains the text of all the emails exchanged when
the member site was discussed and approved, and the final is a comparison
between the old and new member websites. I invite you to judge for
yourself, and I truly hope that the dissenting voices in this meeting will
allow the general membership to vote on whether or not they approve the
websites. I really think that's only fair. I will respect that decision,
but I do think that we should bring this to a vote.

I am unable to attach anything sent to the Business Meeting, but the

Following ​ is the first response I got from Steve when I asked for
approval from the Steering Committee in February 2015. Again, to my
knowledge, only the Steering Committee had EVER been consulted to change or
approve the ASP websites, but I think that should change.

Also, what you probably don't know is that my predecessor, Raine, attempted
to create a WordPress version of the website. I found out about this when I
first approached Cyndi about changing to WordPress, which I did before I
ever contacted Steve. Cyndi is no longer part of ASP, I don't believe, but
she was very much in favor of this change and supported my efforts. Raine
left her position before her term was up, but did consult with me a bit via
email.

Excellent!



The *only* thing I found that I think needs attention is the font on this
page http://www.asp-afg.org/ASP/nbm/Process_vs2.htm. I think the page could
be converted over to the new theme and fit in better with the overall new
look.

Steve requested a sample voting page, so I created a poll for the SC to
vote on the new site. I already voted :-) Cyndi and I will both get an
email every time anyone votes and no one can vote more than once (you can
try but we will see you trying to cheat! ;-) ) I can change it to let
anyone get an email notification.



The poll will close a week from tomorrow or as soon as everyone has voted.
