Responding to JT's question:


Sandie, our past List Administrator, had previously announced that she would be resigning her position as soon as a LA was elected. In an email to the Business Meeting yesterday, Oct. 21st she announced both her resignation and my election.


Because I was spending most of October at my cabin and Sandie is now traveling there have been few exchanges between us since my election. Sandie was wearing many hats here at ASP which leaves us with some voids. It also points out the importance of service when the opportunities to serve surface.


Note that the LA position was the first to go to a vote. The other Steering Committee offices went to a vote a bit later so the results would naturally be announced later.


This particular transition is unusual for ASP. Usually there are officers in position to help the incoming officers learn the many particulars of their new jobs. I can not say at this moment what degree of cooperation the new officers will be getting. I remain hopeful. Just know that there are others who know how things get done around here and, with your patience and our Higher Powers' help, this learning curve will be climbed.
