Biz-Pals,
Boy, you folks are putting this rookie through my paces! :-)
I have again gone back and reviewed the October Business Meeting traffic carefully. Unless I made a mistake this time the pertinent dates and times are as follows:
________________________________________________
(Operating in KBDM - Motions Improper Except where Consensus Exists)
10.17.17 [6:49A] Sandie presents Jane's original motion
10.18.17 [2:37P] Jerry suggests different language seeking unity
10.18.17 Jane withdraws her 10.17 motion and makes a motion similar to Jerry's
10.18.17 [3:10P] Sandie notes that Jane's 10.17 motion can only be withdrawn by Jane
10.18.17 [4:28P] Kristin makes motion as Jerry's suggestion with minor change
10.18.17 [4:37P] Steve seconds Kristin's motion.
10.18.17 [4:47P] Steve asks Sandie if we are reverting to Robert's Rules at this time
10.18.17 [4:57P] BJ seconds Jane's motion
10.18.17 [5:08P] Sandie announces we are now operating under Robert's Rules
_________________________________________________
(Operating under Robert's Rules - Motions Proper)
10.19.17 [7:35A] Jane makes new motion* based on Jerry's suggestion
10.19.17 [8:41A] BJ seconds Jane's new motion
New Determination:
~ While in the KBDM phase, all motions made were out of order (no consensus.)
~ Switch to Robert's Rules confirmed by Sandie on 10.19.17 at 5:08PM.
~ Jane's 10.19.17 motion* was properly made and seconded under Robert's Rules.

* The following is the correct motion on the floor for discussion:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"The ASP website, as currently posted, be temporarily accepted while the Steering Committee, the Business Meeting, and/or other created committees carefully review the differences between the "old" group conscience approved web content and the "new" posted content for future deliberations on final content, any agreed-upon changes (as well as any future changes) subject to group conscience of the ASP Business Meeting."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
If anyone cares to go through this sequence in their records or the archives and arrives with different information, please let me know. In any case this motion something I can work with, so why not go with it?

A following note:
My intention was that we discuss the motion on the floor for the remainder of this month, then continue as part of the agenda for our next BM. I believe there are other items which are more pressing than this one, so it may not be the #1 item, but I'd really like to continue discussions. Frankly, since we are now in KBDM I think the motion to postpone is improper since I see no unanimity to do so. Sorry I brought it up in the first place.
Jerry, acting BM Chair
