Morning BM ASPers....Anne, thank you for what you have offered the fellowship.

i would like to add something to the conversation that steve posted.  I believe that we have new leadership here and that they are all getting their sea legs under them at this point.  lets all be a bit patient here and work with our new leadership and get done what we have to do.  pointing fingers at each other will accomplish nothing here.    the fact that the greeter chair position was left open longer than it should have been really has no bearing here. (we need to pick up and move forward)  the point is, it was properly closed (for this meeting).   we were all told it would be moved to the next bm at that time.  is that what it is going to take for us to pay attention ?...shame on us...  there was plenty of time to submit a resume within that period.  we had someone step up and offer. our guidelines determined that they needed more experience.   i find it disconcerning that blame is being laid.  it was incumbent on the bm to ask about this.  WE DID NOT DO THIS....  we deserve some of the blame for not doing our part.  participation IS the key to harmony (concept 4).    maybe we need to extend this meeting, maybe we need to move this position to the next business meeting....maybe, maybe, maybe....these maybes's get us no where....it would seem that our trusted servants are doing the daily greeting here (i refer to the daily greeters). if someone else is filling this position in our new leadership, we need to know who so that we can get their input as well.   they all deserve our thanks and appreciation for doing what we cannot.  it is not right to have to do double duty, but in life we do what we have to.  we need to work together to solve this.   i seem to remember all the problems that came from others doing the exact same thing last year....i think we are overlooking the fact that we have daily greeters that are doing a great job the best way they can...that is a  tradition (trust) and concept (service) thing....  we have trusted them to do it so far and not even thought about it...that tells me that no is paying attention until it becomes a problem.  maybe we need to look to one of the daily greeters to step in as they understand the process.  if we do this, it needs to be made clear that may be a temporary fix and it will be re-addressed at the next business meeting.  it might be prudent to create a service postion that is a backup to our primary leadership to help fill in when this stuff happens...a kind of floating service position (like we have with our daily chairs).   i do not know about you  all, but i do not want to see this bm go the way of the last ones in 2017 when everything was so messed up and nothing got done for months.
maybe we need to do a group conscious here and see what the hell is really going on....i don.t mean in the bm, i mean in the general fellowship.  we may need to alot some time for this and setup a committee to do this.    it seems we are truly lacking that needed guidance at this time.  we have enough stuff to do and get fixed without beating up the messengers.  they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with, and i dont see any of us stepping up to do this.  i considered it, but do not have enough time doing service on asp yet.  i will work to remedy that through other means as they present themself.   that said, i believe this position needs to be shifted to the next business meeting and we need to move forward with the rest of the agenda.  i do believe that this needs to be decided by the bm, and not by the steering committee.

a special note for jerry:  sorry i posted to your earlier suggestion jerry, my bad...next time i will think on stuff abit longer before i share my voice.   thats all i got folks...thanks for reading...

hugggsss,
karen c
