[Businessmtg] Steering Committee / List Administrator's Report, 7.1.18

Biz-Pals,

June turned out to be not so busy for the Steering Committee. I'm sure
the Greeter Committee was hopping, though, because our membership has
grown much faster than usual - the only reason I can see for this is the
new subscription process ASP has been using recently. ASP membership as
of this writing stands at 1,691 folks. As usual we lose a few members
along the way. The main reason given for leaving is the number of emails
received. This month a very few have stated that online meetings don't
work for them and they're sticking with f2f meetings. We have had no
major site problems during the past month. Except for the usual number
of members attempting to use Reply All to send shares, each of which
requires daily List Administrator responses, things are going quite
smoothly.

I hope you have noted that we were successful in electing a new
Webmaster last Business Meeting, Anne K. We were unable, sadly, to fill
ASP's Treasurer position. Having an active Treasurer in place is
critical to ASP's long-term health. Having been Treasurer in the past I
know the work to be quite easy, not terribly time consuming, and in many
ways personally rewarding.

All of ASP's trusted servants are elected from the members of this
Business Meeting. Because of the importance of this position the
Steering Committee has agreed to focus on only one agenda item for July:
filling our Treasurer position. I call on all BM members to give serious
consideration to serving ASP in this essential position.

Meanwhile, stay cool out there, and be safe as you travel.

In service,
Jerry H., ASP List Administrator
