[Businessmtg] website report

Thanks GB,

No, I didn't notice the duplication on the home page. After a while, the
obvious becomes quite invisible. What we sometimes call "hiding in plain
sight".

I think I fixed everything you pointed out.

Point of order - it is not up to the Steering Committee to approve the
website. The website belongs to the members of ASP, which is all of you in
the Business Meeting. It is YOUR decision to approve the website, including
and & all changes.

The Steering Committee is responsible for the ADMINISTRATION of ASP,
including the website. In other words, updating the website with things like
new group consciences, new trusted servants and such is the SC's job. The
Steering Committee does not have the authority to make any changes to ASP
policy.

The SC does NOT have the authority to change content of the website -
language that describes our policies, procedures, protocols, etc. That is
why we are bringing the latest version of the website to the Business
Meeting - to seek the approval of the website by the membership. Why?
Because, we would like to reestablish the current website as officially
approved by the members of ASP. Any policy, procedure, protocol described in
the website when approved would then become a part of the group conscience
of ASP.

Subsequent changes to the website other than housekeeping changes like I
described above, would require approval by the membership using the KBDM
process.

Hugs,
Steve

Thank you for the detailed report Steve, the direct email was helpful. From
what I understand, the proposed amendments look better, especially the
greeters instruction page being revised into simpler instructions. It's
definitely an improvement from the previous versions.
The new version of the joining ASP page looks helpful as well. I think it
clearly states what is appropriate and what is not appropriate for
membership consideration, and what our group expects to be acceptable. This
should help newcomers understand what they will find in ASP as well.

In regards to the new WordPress website which is under consideration with
the steering committee, I did notice some possible hyperlink errors, which I
believe Steve asked us to point out if we noticed.

Steve: You may already know this, if so then disregard, but it looks like
there are two duplicate hyperlinks: "Sponsorship" and "Al-Anon Calendar of
Events" appear twice, once under Table of Contents and again under Archives
and Documents. This could also be intentional, but it appears the second
appearance of these hyperlinks is an unintentional duplicate.

It also looks like there are two sections titled Archives and Documents, one
following the other. Could these be merged into one? It just caught my eye
since they have the same heading.

Other than that, I didn't see anything else that might be confusing or
unclear. I hope this was helpful.
After the new WordPress website is approved by SC, it, along with the other
proposed changes, have my approval with no further discussion.
Kindly,
GB
