List Administrator / Steering Committee Report - 11/01/2018

     Believe it or not October concluded my first year as ASP's List
Administrator. While this year has presented its share of challenges it
has also brought growth as ASP has never before experienced. Our
membership roles have soared allowing ASP to bring Al-Anon recovery to
many hundreds of new members from around the world. 

     A new membership application process was put in place making
joining ASP a much easier proposition. Our greeters are doing a
fantastic job.  

     This year's Business Meetings have worked through the many
controversial tangles in our website and concluded its long review
process with a group conscience acceptance of its content. This was one
long haul and everyone involved deserves our thanks 

     The 9/11 attack changed banking laws forever making our old way of
keeping our funds unworkable and obsolete. Work is in progress on the
formation of ASP as a non-profit fellowship which will allow us to
openly comply with these laws. By-Laws are being written for
presentation to a future Business Meeting for review and approval. 

     ASP did experience some management problems related to our treasury
as a result of work-arounds which were put in place because of these new
legal requirements. While we are completely stable financially, some
long-latent problem areas showed themselves forcing the temporary
treasury actions I announced earlier. 

     We continue to present thoughtful and inspiring meeting topics day
after day after day. Not enough can be said for the many topic chairs
who lead us further into our recoveries. Thanks to you all. 

     As List Administrator I find our current Steering Committee members
exceptionally well-versed in their duties (though I'm not all that sure
about myself :-). While we don't always agree, we cooperate and interact
very well. I can't say enough about everyone's contributions to ASP's
successes.  

     Much of this first year has been dedicated to returning ASP to the
successful foundations of its origins. Upon these we will continue to
build a home for the many who seek the serenity we've found. Lastly, I
can not conclude without acknowledging the Grace which has permitted us
to pass this recovery on to so many.
