I like the idea of providing something to newcomers in the welcome letter. Perhaps we could have a few short, concise sentences on several topics linked to more info. I like Jerry’s paragraph on technology. Below is an outline of topics in a letter that would have helped me when I started Al-Anon as a newbie in turmoil and/or also as someone who has experienced Al-Anon but was new to ASP

1. How ASP technology works (with a link to more info on the website)
2. Where to find CAL e.g., local F2F meeting or online (with a link to online purchase)
3. Where to find often used abbreviations (with a link to abbreviations)
4. A few sentences about sponsorship with a link to the sponsorship pamphlet (if there is such a link)
5. A typical meeting CAL and share. I think it might be good to have a paragraph from How Al-Anon Works with a My Share about how life may be unmanageable but just keep coming back. (Even perhaps a link to a few different shares)

Since we have an online format, I think a few short sentences of highly informative information linked to more info gives newcomers the opportunity to find what they need but not to overwhelm them with too much text. This also provides a learning tool about how to use Al-Anon resources like our website.
