Good Morning All,

This is essentially an update to the report I sent in September. Since we
are talking about newcomers now, it would seem that some of the information
shared in September is relevant and of course we have attendees this month
who didn't see this. I have added the approximate numbers of subscriptions
since August and I have included the greeter process as well as a link to
the greeter instruction page. This should answer some of the questions I
have seen coming out of discussions this month. I am happy to answer
questions.

Subscription activity/numbers:

June: 194 new members were greeted and subscribed to our meeting

July: 242 new members were greeted and subscribed to our meeting

August: 251 new members were greeted and subscribed to our meeting

September: 296 new members were greeted and subscribed to our meeting

October: 299 new members were greeted and subscribed to our meeting

Kudos to our greeters for keeping up with new volumes!

The greeters are busy welcoming and subscribing members. The numbers of
newcomers to our group has grown rapidly since implementing the new process,
we are reaching many. The greeter team started following a new approach in
May, for those who haven't seen it, there is a survey/questionnaire at the
bottom of our public page, http://asp-afg.org/. and here is the link to
the survey that is also posted at the bottom of our public page.

This new approach is efficient and eliminates the need for multiple
exchanges by a newcomer with a greeter ahead of the actual subscription, the
greeter still has personal contact with the new member before they are
subscribed. Greeter instructions are posted to our member site if you
haven't seen them, they are here:
http://asp-afg.org/members/greeter-instructions-2018v20/

The process for the greeter is this:

. There are three greeters, they are assigned to a group of emails
defined by the first character in the inquiry email address (alpha/numeric)

. Daily they check the inbox for new requests.

. They review the request for 3rd tradition information. It is rare
that follow up is needed. Sometimes the inquiry simply states, I need help
or is focused on addictions that aren't related to alcohol. In those cases
the greeter will ask for more info.

. Once the review is complete and is in line with Al-Anon's 3rd
tradition, they send a personalized welcome note to the potential newcomer
to let them know the subscription request is in progress and can take up to
a day to be completed.

. As greeter chair, I review each subscription request against the
original inquiry as a cross check on the 3rd tradition, I also keep an eye
on the inquiries to be sure none get overlooked. It is a very active
mailbox!

. As I complete the subscription process, a system generated email
from the LA is sent to the ASP newcomer, I also let the greeter know that
the newcomer is subscribed so that they can then send an introductory
welcome to the recovery meeting.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hugs
