Linda and all,

All Al-Anon CAL is available for anyone to purchase through the Al-Anon 
website, District Assemblies, Local Distribution Centers [LDC's]. Many 
if not most Al-Anon f2f meetings have a selection of CAL and stock 
beginners booklets as well. Some is available on such sites as Amazon as 
well as book stores. So CAL is available to all. The Beginner 
Booklet/Packet is usually not available at non-Al-Anon retailers.

Al-Anon, following in AA's footsteps, has had a long-standing 
understanding that newcomer packets, (now booklets) are given to each 
newcomer at their 1st Step meeting. This is the pattern ASP had hoped to 
follow when it decided to make these packets available to newcomers (1st 
Steppers) when they came to ASP. [Anonymities were protected by only 
sending one to members who requested it giving them control of if and 
where it was sent.]
