Considering the problems ASP has had getting volunteers to serve as
treasurer and in light of the Newcomer's Packet Motion having received more
or less a "no" vote, I would say that at this time, ASP has no business
providing packets to newcomers.  A big part of this recovery program is
letting others learn to do for themselves.  People can get free CAL at f2f
meetings as well as buy it OL from WSO.   Many towns have CAL donated to
local libraries, rehabs and doctors' offices also so it is out there and
available.

Therefore, I say put the Newcomer Packet Motion on the shelf and/or do away
with it completely.  Making CAL available to OL members was not something
we agreed to offer from OL meetings when in discussions of how to adapt
Al-Anon to OL years ago.
