Thanks, Jerry. Below is basically what I got from the WSO Conference Call:

It was an interesting Conference Call with WSO Associate Director of Group
Services Sue Perez. Those attending were members from email, telephone and
chat room meetings.

Basically the purpose was to see what those attending had to suggest that
WSO could do further for these kinds of meetings. Some ideas were put
forth and it was decided to have a separate Conference Call meeting in the
future for those representing email meetings. It seems the phone and chat
groups have more involved issues than we email people do.

The use of Al-Anon/Alateen Service Manuals and OL Guidelines was stressed,
the idea that it is out there for a reason so use it, aka Let It Begin With
Me. Also, it was asked that copyright privilege be given to use more CAL.
There was also talk of the servers different meetings use or could use. It
was suggested that WSO might have a secure server for use by OL meetings.
I'm not sure at all what that might entail, perhaps Buddy can enlighten us.

There is still a question of OL meetings being supplemental to face to face
meetings. Obviously, OL meetings attract people who do not have convenient
access to f2f meetings for whatever reason but, still, many who attend f2f
meetings need to use that connection for the benefit of their OL meetings.

Also, it was discussed that OL meetings, particularly phone and chat room,
meeting seem to attract more lurkers/trolls than email meetings do.
Actually, my experience is that it is easier to ferret out the trolls and
lurkers in email meetings than possibly in the phone and chat meetings.
We have had that happen but it has been fairly easy to recognize the
intentions of such people. I have dealt with writers, authors,
paper-writing students, 'observers', ministers, people asking/hinting for
financial help (a gofundme situation comes to mind), and creeps. It's easy
with email meetings to explain Al-Anon circumstances to and ban or moderate
such people if necessary.

Do any of you have situations you would like to see discussed with WSO? Is
there anything you might suggest that WSO can do to further help OL
meetings?

In service,
BJ
