Steve and all,
We do indeed know what will happen were we to decide to de-select the archive setting on the server - at least if the response I got from Esosoft is accurate: that change would only affect archived emails which were addressed to our asp at asp-afg.org address.
I'll get over to my computer in a few and will forward Esosoft's email on this to th Business Meeting.

Beverly,
Actually, we don't know what will happen when/if we de-select the archive setting on the server.
It is entirely possible that the server will delete the existing archive of shares when/if the archive switch is de-selected.
The thing is that we do seem to have a consensus about turning the archive feature off, but there is clearly no consensus about keeping or deleting the existing archive.
As a result of moving the meeting to the Parliamentary phase - even though that was not announced by the Chair - the discussion shifts from the general discussion of the broader issue to specific discussions about the consensus and its related motion.
In other words, the discussion is now about the motion made by Kim, and discussion of the status of the existing Archives is closed.
If the group feels that we need to go back and discuss the status of the existing archive, then I see two ways to do that now:
1. The motion is withdrawn, followed by the Chair withdrawing his statement that we have a concensus.
OR
2. We proceed on the path we are on now and address the status of the existing archive at a later date.
Personally, I'm for #2.
Please remember that I brought this topic up in the first place, and that while I recognize the possible issues some members have with the archives, I also know that some members have found the archives useful for their recovery. As I said in our last Business Meeting, I could go either way.
Since I was probably the only member that knew this had never been a group conscience decision, I asked for it to be placed on the agenda.
So, there we are. :-)
Love and SERENITY, Steve
