[Businessmtg] Extending Comment Period on the Motion

Biz-Pals, 

Last Tuesday, as part of an email to the Business Meeting, I posted the
following: 

3) Because our past discussions have revealed this point of unanimity
the Chair could announce a foreshortened period for discussion of the
new motion which would allow the BM to have a full 7-day polling period
before the end of the January Business Meeting. 

I went on to suggest that we would have a foreshortened commentary
period on the motion on the table so that we could have a 7-day polling
period before the end of the month. Foreshortened comment periods are
permissible under ASP's guidelines. That would have ended the comment
period Thursday midnight with the poll beginning at that time. 

But a few comments have trickled in after that date so I've
reconsidered. The original foreshortened comment period (2-1/2 days) was
indeed too short. In order to accommodate any further comments on the
Motion on the table BM members may have, the foreshortened comment
period is extended through this weekend to Sunday midnight (5-1/2 days)
at which time the polling will begin. 

Because ASP's requires a full 7-day polling period the poll on the
current motion will now begin Monday at 12:01 AM and extend until
midnight, Sunday, February 3rd when results will be announced. Extending
polling periods beyond month's end is also permissible under ASP's
guidelines.
